Brian Jones

Brian Jones is the director of choirs at Canton Middle School and Canton High School in Canton, CT, where he teaches four choirs, two chamber ensembles, two a cappella groups, and AP Music Theory. In his 10+ years as a music educator, Brian has been a strong advocate for his young singers, serving CT ACDA as R&R chairs for both middle school and TB repertoire, and is also active in CMEA, having served as a festival ensemble chair at both the middle and high school level. His compositions span from advanced choral music, to repertoire that is both versatile and accessible to young and emerging choirs. His pieces have been performed by high school, community, church, and professional choirs and at Carnegie Hall.

He currently sings in two professional ensembles; Voce, bases out of Hartford, CT, and Voices of Concinnity, based out of Mansfield, CT. He has served as a guest conductor/clinician, and vocal coach for choirs, a cappella groups, and private voice students. Brian received his BA in Vocal Performance and CT Teaching Certificate from Central Connecticut State University (CCSU), and his Master's Degree in Music Education from the University of Hartford's Hartt School of Music.
