Karl Dent

Karl Dent, born in Houston, Texas, received his master's degree in vocal performance from the University of North Texas. He performs extensively in oratorio, concert, and recital, as well as in opera. Dent was a soloist in Robert Shaw's Atlanta Symphony recording of Rachmaninoff's The Bells, which won the Grammy as Best Choral Recording for 1997, and he sang in Shaw's Atlanta recording of Janacek's Glagolitic Mass, which received a Grammy nomination for Rest Choral Recording in 1990. Dent retired as associate professor of music at Texas Tech University (Lubbock, TX) in May 2019. He had been a professor there since September 1994
